Introduction

I feel motivated to write a little about Steven Stein. He is the president, and I would guess founder and owner, of a company called MHS, a company which sells what they call tests of emotional intelligence. I feel motivated because he or someone at his company got my eqi.org site shut down for a few days in March of 2006.

I have also decided to add his name to my list of fakes in the field of emotional intelligence. If he were more real, I think he would have contacted me before contacting my hosting service. To this date I still have never heard anything from him.

I will write more about him later but for now I have started to collect some notes about him which you can see below.

To refuse to spend any money on it and further fill the pockets of Steven Stein, the president of MHS who has been lying to people for years about the Bar-On EQi test, which I will be saying a lot more about in the near future. And I also urge people to refuse to call the MSCEIT test a test of emotional intelligence until they have come up with a better version of it, one which doesn't include something as sickening as this."

I found this humorous. It seems to me that he isn't satisfied with just using his name. He has to use the impressive sounding title of "CEO".

Questions I would like to ask Steven Stein

I would like to ask Steven Stein how he decided to call the BarOn a “measure of emotional intelligence.”

I would also like to ask if he thinks it is still fair to call it that.

I would like to ask who else besides he, Reuven and the people who are making money from selling and administering the EQi, is saying that it is a “measure of emotional intelligence.”

I would like to ask him how he felt about me putting copies of the MSCEIT test questions on my site, and if he could explain his feelings for me.
