Romania and America Written in 2008 by S. Hein --
I'm not going to spend a lot of time on this now but I want to tell you about where I am... and say a bit about freedom, suicide and the USA. I often wonder what I would be like now if I had been born in another country... I just got back from a short walk on the beach here in Romania. Here parents aren't paranoid. People aren't paranoid, for example about nuidity. They aren't afraid of it. They aren't as insecure as the people I had to live with for so long in the USA. I just took a couple of pictures and wondered if the police/FBI in the USA etc would say that it is "pornographic" or "pedophila" because the pics have some topless females and some totally naked kids. In Romania, like much of Europe, nudity is not scary or threatening to the average person. Anyhow, then I came back to search on nude beaches on youtube and found these... This is evidently a joke video... from Australia I'd say by the accents and the "officer's" clothes. http://youtube.com/watch?v=rarZOwV5pIg This is a gay nude beach in Florida - I am pretty sure it is private because public nudity is illegal in the "land of the free". http://youtube.com/watch?v=duevVgRgzUE I feel very sad when I think about how many people in America really believe they are free. As a lady from Estonia said, "America is like a rich Russia, but the Americans think they are free." I just typed in "Atheists" in YouTube and found this about intolerance of atheists in America... http://youtube.com/watch?v=XbjIYvXpvLM The longer I am away from the USA the more I see how damaged I was there...
