Disorders
Here is a quote from Abraham Maslow, one of the great thinkers in psychology.
Although he doesn't say "disorder", we could
easily substitute his term personality problems with
personality disorders and his statement will have much
the same meaning.
Clearly, what will be called
personality problems depends on who is doing the
calling. The slave owner? The dictator? The
patriarchal father?... It seems quite clear that
personality problems may be loud protests against the
crushing of psychological bones, of one's true inner
nature. What is sick then is not to protest while
this crime is being committed.
Maslow also asks
What shall we call the
well-adjusted slave?
