These are some of the principles of NVC - Non Violent Communication, somewhat merged with EQI principles.
- Try to show empathy and understanding - Don't judge, threaten, coerce, punish - Don't label the other person (or yourself) Instead, label or name your feelings. - State non-emotional data as observations and emotional data using "I feel___" messages. - Check to see if the other person understood you clearly - Look for and try to identify universal needs and feelings
