Have
        a Great Day!

        Are you sick
of hearing "Have a great day!"?
        I am.
        I am sick of
people telling me how to feel, and what to do, and what
        to think and believe.
        It is such an
American thing to say "Have a great day!" It
reminds me of how dysfunctional the culture is. How many
people they are killing and have killed. How fake the
        society is. etc. etc.
        It reminds me
of my new expression "Recovering Americans". I will feel some
satisfaction when my page on "recovering
americans" is number one on google. And I feel
pretty confident it will be soon.
        America is so
messed up. And so many people know it. But not the people
who live there. I don't think you can realize how bad it
is till you leave, and stay away for a long time.
        Today, btw, I
searched for "sick of hearing have a great day"
        - To my surprise, no results were found, I did find,
though "sick of hearing have a good day" on
Yahoo answers. Here are some of them...

                Are you sick
of hearing "have a good day"?
This phrase is uttered with no inflection
which sounds like it's not really meant. It makes
me think of Bon Jovi's song.
What ever happened to "thank you"?
Aren't businesses grateful for our business
                anymore?

Yes! Also the whole, "Sorry about
that" when you know they're not really sorry
or feel bad about their mistake.

                | "Have a nice day" is
over used and often said with no good intention
behind it. Just try responding with a question
like "what did you have in mind".
                They'll act like you're speaking a foreign
                language |
Yes I am tired of the monotone
that is used to say the phrase "have a good
                day"
If i ever work retail again (I doubt that will
ever happen I learned my lesson) I will be sure
to come up with something better....

"WOW you have a lot of credit cards, does
                your husband know that!?"
"This money smells funny, can you go to the
ATM and get some that doesn't stink?"
"I already put your receipt in the bag, I
didn't feel like waiting around while you decided
if you wanted it with you or in the bag."
"No the customer is not always right"
"You have a nice day meow!"

Of course all the above phrases would be said in
the most cheerful manner. (think Disney world
                chipper) |

                | No.......unless they say it with a huge grin,
like they mean to say "have a s$$t
                day". |
Its like someone asking you how are you and
the answer always be replied, fine. When most to
us arent. Just said so much people say it without
thinking if it has any meaning. |

                | Yeah, it's meaningless, and I hate it when
people tell you to smile. |
im sick of hearing god bless you |

                | Yup I'm sick of it. |
I just think you are too sensitive...lighten
up!!! Note from Steve - I am not sure, but
I think this person was serious. It is a perfect
                example of invalidation
