Some Characteristics of Emotionally Intelligent Teens

  • Emotionally intelligent teens feel pain when others do not
  • Emotionally intelligent teens think about emotional problems
  • Emotionally intelligent teens want to understand emotional problems
  • Emotionally intelligent teens think about relationships
  • Emotionally intelligent teens value love, understanding, emotional support
  • Emotionally intelligent teens are not motivated by making money
  • Emotionally intelligent teens are motivated by helping people
  • Emotionally intelligent teens are not motivated by grades (1)
  • Emotionally intelligent teens are emotionally honest with people they trust
  • Emotionally intelligent teens know who is worthy of their trust and who is not
  • Emotionally intelligent teens support each other
  • Emotionally intelligent teens listen to their feelings
  • Emotionally intelligent teens obey their conscience, not adult authorities
  • Emotionally intelligent teens use the power of their own feelings
    to bring needed change to the world
