Dolphins and Students
Have you ever wondered how they train dolphis to jump through the hoops high above the water? Well, here is how they do it. When they first put a dolphin in captivity they put a rope down in the water. Then, each time the dophin happens to swim over the rope as it is swimming around, they throw in some food.
Since dolphins are smart, they learn quickly.
Then the trainers simply raise the rope little by little until it is out of the water.
Dolphins are not punished.
Compare this to a typical school environment. Of course there are lots of rewards. But there are also punishments. So could we say that dolphins are treated better than students?
