Feeling Self-Destructive

thought - if u feel anything negative u need the opposite to balance the brain chemicals

if u feel hungry u need food

if u feel thirsty u need water

if u feel trapped u need freedom

if u feel out of control u need to feel in control

if u feel unimportant u need to feel more important

if u feel unvalued u need to feel more valued

if u feel not understood u need to feel more understood

so...

if u feel self destructive, what do u need?

what is the opposite of destruct? construct

so maybe we need to feel sef constructive when we feel self destructive

how can we do that?

how do we construct a building - we build it. so i thought if we learn something we are constructing or building a knowledge base. a library of information, of data

i think branden said knowledge or information was power.

so if you think of building your knowledge base or your personal database it could help u look at the situation differently which could help you feel less pain in two ways.

first you are feeling self-constructive, you are building something inside yourself

second the different perspective helps you. instead of thinking something which makes you feel worse, you could possibly think of something which makes you feel better, like "I learned something eles today." or "i have more data now for my knowledge base or data base or personal library."

ggp said she was told to keep a self harm record -ie to note the times she feels self-destructive or desire to self harm or however u want to say it. i dont want to say "feels like self harming" bc that is not as helpful in my view because it doesn't say as directly how u feel in what i call an emotionally literate way.
