Fear of parents cutting off communication when trying to help teens

I was just working on documenting someone's files. I remembered that I have to be careful of putting too much identifying information in what I post here. I know that some parents, especially the worst ones, i.e. the most defensive, for example, will try to stop their daughters from talking to me. (see note on why I say "daughters")

I say daughters rather than daughters and sons for several reasons.

- There are far more teen females who are talking about their feelings than teen males. I would say the ratio is about 100 to 1.

- Parents of the people I talk to are generally more over-protective of daughters. (in the wrong ways unfortunately, because they are not protecting their teens from the abuse and neglect coming from the parents themselves)

- To date, I have never had a parent try to stop me from talking to son
